“Put on Love” free printable + taking a controversial stand

I don’t advocate public nudity. I don’t like to get too political on the blog, but I’ll take this opportunity to clarify that I fall in the “opposed” column when it comes to going the grocery store in your birthday suit.

Look how brave I am! Not afraid to take a stance!

So if you opt to hang this free printable…
Free printable -- 'Put on love' with a clothes hanger. LOVE!

…please remember to “put on love” AND clothes.

That’s the little printable I made for my closet makeover. It’s inspired by Colossians 3:12-14, which says:

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

I thought it was a pretty sweet little reminder that everything you do to beautify on the outside will quickly be forgotten and will fall to the wayside, but if you “put on love,” you can change someone’s life.

And if you “put on clothes,” you can not be arrested for public nudity.

I made the printable on my computer and printed it out.
Free printable - put on love! Perfect in a closet, bathroom or girls room!

Then I traced it onto another piece of paper with this gold leaf pen (affiliate link) to get that shiny gold effect.

Here it is if you’d like to do the same thing!

  4. Alicia W. says:

Yay! Now I can have one too! This was one of my very favorite parts of your closet makeover. Thank you for sharing!

  5. I knew I forgot something this morning…this is awkward.

  6. I love the print! But…oh dear lord, you didn’t actually see anyone naked at the grocery store, did you?! When I lived in New Orleans, that sort of thing could actually happen.

  7. So now I want to take a gold leaf pen to everything, and it’s all your fault. Are they different from just a gold paint pen?

Taking a stance against public nudity! In the immortal words of Pink Floyd, “Shine on, you crazy diamond.”

  8. Thanks for putting this up! It may just end up in my room too! I also love this: “clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience”. What a beautiful passage!

  9. I love this quote. Like someone else said, it’s maybe my favorite part of your closet makeover, it’s such a great reminder.

For those that want the look of a printed gold, but don’t have the time/energy to go get a gold leafing pen (which will definitely be shinier, but this is cheaper), here is how to print gold and silver on a regular printer:

Highlight your typed wording. Go into the “A” on the toolbar above and
select “More Colors” from the drop-down menu. Go into “Custom” and you
will see “Color Model”. Select “RGB”. Next to the words Red, Green,
    Blue select numbers as follows:
For Gold type in 148 (in red box), 127 (green box), 58 (blue box).
For Silver type in 173 (red box), 175 (green box), 177 (blue box).
    or
    Gold:
    Red 192, Green 168, Blue 104
    Silver:
    Red 151, Green 151, Blue 168
    Deep Gold:
    Red 165, Green 138, Blue 82
    Copper:
    Red 205, Green 115, Blue 0
    or
    SILVER OPTIONS
    151/red 161/green 168/blue
    151/red 151/green 149/blue
I like the first ones suggested but you can play around by increasing and
decreasing the number suggestions. The colour box at right will change as you do
till you get a combo you like then click “OK” and type away in your word doc and
    print it.

    Hope this helps someone!

  23. Hey girl,
Just to ‘weigh in’ with this clothing VS nudity thing- I must admit I’m a prude. I’m always dressed (not with style, but at least with fabric). You’d think with a mother who was an active member of a nudist colony during her early adulthood, I would be more open to nudity. But I’m not.
It could be due to the one time my husband’s friend came over, he had a key, and I had to pee, early in in the marriage so I was only wearing what God gave me, and as he opened the door and I walked back from the bathroom we made eye contact. I’m not too sure who was more surprised, but I reacted by running for the bed (and the masses of blankets) and repeatedly saying ‘OMG’. He reacted by locking the door and going back out and knocking until my husband got out of bed and let him in. To this day he swears he never came in, and to this day I wear pajamas… ALWAYS!
That being said, now as the wife of a man who goes through work clothes every day (various activities fall under his job description, but all dirty LOL ), a mother of two adorable clothing-changing kiddiwinkles, and the owner of a very furry dog (who loves the mud), I’m sick of laundry. Maybe the nudists are on to something…

  24. I remember as a teenager writing this out “all fancy” and hanging it in my closet ~ love your printable and everything behind it!

  25. Love it! Also nudity. Specifically babies’ nudity. And not mine. Although when I’m pregnant I need to take off my clothes the second I get home.
