This is a season of finishing for Andy and me.

This Friday, I will be completely finished with my current job. I’ll take the last year and a half of frequent travel and too much time away from home, tie it all up in a nice bow and give it its rightful place as a tidy little resume bullet and a memory. I’ll be finished.

And it’ll be fantastic!

Not to worry, I’m not joining the ranks of the unemployed (although, with that extra 20 weeks of unemployment they’re giving away now… unemployment isn’t looking like such a bad gig!).

I’ll be moving to another position at the same company and the same location…
But back to finishing.

On Friday, we’ll be welcoming six of Andy’s family members who are graciously making the grueling drive from Michigan to throw us a baby shower.

Cue the massive chaos. Andy and I have been like tiny Tasmanian devils, swirling through our house trying to make it guest- and shower-ready, and the result? Actual, real finished rooms! In OUR house! (No, the whole house isn’t finished, but we actually for the first time have something complete!)

I’ll have lots of pics here soon, but Friday will be the official finish line: the point where I stop working, take one glorious week off, and enjoy a time to stop and relax with Andy. Whew! I can’t wait.
